Piozzo will hold the 20th edition of the Pumpkin Fair
The mayor Adriano Bottero announces an official prize: the “Golden Pumpkin”
More than 450 different types of pumpkin from all over the world will be presented at the 20th Pumpkin Fair which will take place in Piozzo (Cuneo) on the 4th, 5th and 6th October 2013.
The first edition was held in 1993, when a group of people suggested to the Pro Loco (a sort of a local tourist office) the idea of a Fair dedicated to the Pumpkin, a very popular vegetable in the area, and in particular to the local tradition of ‘drinking from the Pumpkin’.
Over the many editions of the Fair, the curiosity has grown more and more among the tourists, and thousands of people visited Piozzo, even in bad weather conditions.
Stuff of all genres is displayed on the stalls put up everywhere.
The Fair organized in Piozzo is now twinned with similar Fairs organized in Vallecrosia (Liguria) and in Antoing (Belgium).
